Hello–
My name is Chloe Maxmin. I am a Nobleboro native running for the Maine House of Representatives in District 88, which includes Chelsea, Whitefield, Jefferson, and part of Nobleboro. This campaign is about what unites our community and electing new energy and perspectives to Augusta. I am grateful for your vote on November 6th, 2018.
On June 12th, we won our Primary with 80% of the vote. More people voted for our movement alone than had voted in any previous Democratic Primary. The turnout exceeded previous records by 40%. Now, we are building momentum towards November 6, 2018.
I grew up on my family’s farm in Nobleboro. For as long as I can remember, I have cared about our community more than anything and knew that I would devote my life to our shared home. I went to Lincoln Academy for high school and Harvard for college. The day after I graduated, I moved back to build my life in Maine.
I have worked with people across Maine, New England, and the country for over thirteen years to call on our political system to fight for us and with us. We struggle everyday with rising healthcare costs, declining school funding, property taxes, student debt, a changing climate, and more. We need our politicians to take action. No one seems to listen or care anymore.
Our campaign is based on two simple ideas. First, it’s time to elect politicians who actually represent the people, this time with new energy and different perspectives. We need politicians who will fight for young people, for our aging neighbors, for farmers, fishermen, and all those who love Maine and believe in a better future. Lastly, I am very excited to join a growing movement of women who are running for office.
Second, there is more that unites us than divides us. This campaign is about everyone in our community. We all want the best lives for our families and neighbors. It’s about making sure that we increase affordability and accessibility to in-home care and healthcare while fostering new creative businesses and investing in our schools. It’s about supporting reliable renewable energy and ensuring that our local economies flourish. We can work together to build something better and stronger in District 88 and in Augusta.
Our campaign has developed momentum across the district. Get involved with our fun, lively, engaging, and inspiring campaign that is fighting for everyone in District 88!
